Elements

Elements are simply the things on a Flypaper page – they’re components that have been added to a page. Most are visible. Some - like audio files - are not.

All elements are listed on the Page Elements tab, so you always know what’s there. Flypaper lets you work more efficiently by locking and unlocking elements and making them invisible or visible in the Page Editor.

When you create a page from a template it includes all of the elements that were on it when it was saved as a template. From there you’re free to change it by deleting or adding elements as you see fit:

  • From the toolbar
  • From the Flybrary

  • Images, videos, audio, Flash swf’s or Flypaper components
  • From a Windows folder, simply by dragging and dropping
  • From a web page displayed in a browser, depending on how it’s designed

Element Properties

Each element has a set of properties, which help control the element’s appearance and behavior. These properties let anyone access some of the most powerful capabilities of Flash by changing a few simple settings.

Some properties, such as Timing and Appearance, are common among nearly all elements.

Appearnce properties

Other properties are specific to the nature of the element. For example, color or font…

Font

Or the ability to contain and display images or other media.

And finally, some properties for specialized elements are unique or common to only a few similar elements:

Hiding Elements

The “Hide by Default” property lets you hide an element until it’s revealed by one of the many interactive element types.
