Flypaper, Adobe Flash and Captivate

Because of our close relationship with Adobe we are able to offer tight integration with their products. We recently demonstrated with Adobe at Adobe MAX our support of their XFL standard, which will allow Flypaper projects to be pulled directly into Flash for that special polishing that Flash maestros excel at.

"Flypaper is a sophisticated platform that fits
a distinct need in the marketplace..."

Integrating Flypaper and Flash Content

Flypaper outputs true Flash content, so it’s no surprise that you can bring content you create in Flash directly into Flypaper and then use Flypaper to extend it. You choose from three options.

  • Option 1: Drag and Drop SWF on a Page
Have a self-contained Flash animation or interaction? Just drag into Flypaper and drop it on a page. From there you can treat it just like any other element on a page. You can time it, animate it, even have other interactive page elements show or hide it. It couldn’t be simpler.
  • Option 2: Use an Interaction Container
When you have a custom-developed SWF that you want to control other elements – for example, show or hide other elements on a page, navigate to a different page in your project, launch a url, or open a file – you drop an Interaction Container on the page and select your SWF. From there your SWF has access to a number of standard Flypaper features that make creating powerful Flash content simple.
  • Option 3: Create a Flypaper Component
The secret behind Flypaper is that ANY Flash ActionScript 3 code can be turned into a re-usable component. That’s what lets non-Flash programmers create top quality Flash content, and it’s a great way for Flash programmers to take ActionScript 3 code they already have and quickly turn it into a re-usable object, for themselves or others. It can take as little as 10 minutes using our free SDK, included with Flypaper Pro! We offer a series of webinars where you can see how it’s done and interact live with the Flypaper development team.

Integrating Flypaper and Captivate Content

Trying to integrate a software demo or other screen recording into a bigger interactive or e-Learning project? How’s this for simple! Just take your Captivate movie and drop it on a Flypaper page! From there you can treat it just like any other element on a page. You can time it, animate it, even have other interactive page elements show or hide it.
