Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy

Flypaper respects the intellectual property of others, and we ask our users to do the same. Flypaper has no responsibility for content on other web sites that you may find or access when using Flypaper's products or services. Material available on or through other web sites may be protected by copyright and the intellectual property laws of the United States and/or other countries. The terms of use of those web sites, and not the Flypaper Terms of Service, govern your use of that material.

It is Flypaper’s policy, in appropriate circumstances and at its discretion, to disable and/or terminate the accounts of users who may infringe or repeatedly infringe the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of Flypaper and/or others.

Image search inside Flypaper

The image search inside the Flybrary returns images from Yahoo, Google and Flickr. The source is desplayed in a tooltip over the image. The rights to those images can be found through searching Yahoo and Google image search with the image name. All images displayed inside Flypaper through the Flickr API follow the copyright rules for Creative Commons for Attribution. According to Flickr, Attribution means:

You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your copyrighted work - and derivative works based upon it - but only if they give you credit.

You can get more information about creative commons from creativecommons.org. Flypaper displays the attribution for each Flickr image as you rollover the image in the search results panel. Flypaper is not responsible for displaying attribution. You can get more details about the photographer by visiting Flickr and search for Flickr members with that attribution name.

Video search inside Flypaper

All videos displayed inside Flypaper through the video and YouTube API follow the copyright rules for YouTube, and the video's creator. Searching YouTube with the video name will reveal the rights designated for that video.
