Yes. Flypaper is great software, and it is free for anyone to download and use. It's not just the software that’s free: page Templates and Stories downloaded from the Flypaper Community are free and users also get 100MB of free hosting of their Flypaper Stories in the Flypaper Community.
Q What is Flypaper Pro?
A
Flypaper Pro is an advanced version of Flypaper that offers additional product features, publishing output formats and hosting options. Annual subscription pricing for Flypaper Pro is $195 per year. If you decide to upgrade to Flypaper Pro, everything you create in Flypaper today will work fine in Flypaper Pro.
Q What are the system requirements for the Flypaper software?

To Install and build content with Flypaper:
- Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit editions)
- 500 MHz Pentium processor or higher (1GHz processor recommended)
- 1 GB of RAM (2 GB recommended)
- Adobe Flash Player version 9,0,47,0 or later (included)
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (install .NET before installing Flypaper)

Q Does Flypaper work on a Macintosh?

Flypaper does not currently have a Macintosh version. We know it’s not the same as a Macintosh application, but many Flypaper users are using Flypaper on their Macintosh with Windows using Parallels Desktop, Apple Boot Camp or VMware Fusion virtual machine software.

Flypaper was specifically designed for anyone with moderate computer proficiency – without the need for any technical, programming or design expertise. Flypaper gives users the power of Flash to tell high impact Stories for live presentations or Web-based delivery.
Q What is a Flypaper Story?
A
A “Story” is the document file that Flypaper creates when building content using the Flypaper application. You’re telling an interactive, multimedia story, regardless of how you use the output. Post it on the Flypaper Community and share it on the Web, or publish as a movie and post on YouTube, MySpace, Facebook or any Web site.
Q What is a Flypaper Template?

A Flypaper Template is a page that can be saved, shared and reused in the Flypaper application to create your Story. Flypaper Templates aren’t just simple “place your text here” examples like you have seen in other applications. Flypaper Templates are fully customizable, saved pages that contain media (images, video, audio), animations, timing, interactions and other elements. Professionally designed Templates can be downloaded from the Flypaper Web site, endlessly modified, saved, shared and re-used. Create your own Templates to reuse or share, saving you time and money.
Q What is a Flypaper Component?

A Flypaper Component is a pre-programmed element that provides media, text, interaction, effects and other capabilities on a page. Flypaper Components provide the functional elements that make up Templates in Flypaper. Simply drag a Component to your page, modify options, and you have complete control over the page. No programming required.

The Flypaper Community at community.flypaper.net is where Flypaper Stories and Templates are hosted when published to the Web. When you search for Templates on the Web using Flypaper, you are searching our online community of shared content.
Q What media files are supported by Flypaper?

You can import:

- Videos: .avi, .flv, .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .mpeg, .wmv
- Audio files: .mp3
- Flash Animations: .swf (Flash 9, ActionScript 3 recommended)
Q Can I convert presentations from Microsoft PowerPoint to Flypaper?

Yes! Flypaper includes basic PowerPoint conversion that converts text and other elements into new pages in Flypaper. Make static PowerPoint presentations come alive by converting them into Flypaper. Add rich media and interactive elements to the existing text and graphics, then share the more engaging, optimized version on the Web.
Q Can I import pictures and video from YouTube? Flickr? Others?

Using the “Flybrary” you can directly search Flickr, Yahoo Images, and Google Images for free pictures and then directly import them by dragging from the Web and dropping them onto any page. Searching and downloading video files from YouTube is also a drag and drop process. Any image or video file from stock photo or photo sharing sites can be used in Flypaper.
Q Is there a way to see who is viewing my Stories?

The Flypaper Pro dashboard provides an interactive reporting console that lets users track the Stories they publish to know who’s viewing, how often, what pages they have visited and how long they are on each page. This helps you to prioritize your hottest leads, customize follow-up contact, and improve your messaging. Requires Flypaper Pro.
Q How does the Flypaper Pro subscription work?

Purchase a Flypaper Pro Upgrade Key, copy it and paste it in the Flypaper application. Flypaper Pro features are instantly available. Your Upgrade Key is assigned to you and is associated with your Flypaper username. Flypaper Pro is an annual subscription; you will automatically receive new Pro features and product updates during your subscription period. All Stories, Templates and other user data that you create with the free Flypaper application will work fine in Flypaper Pro when you upgrade.
Q What kind of Web files are created with Flypaper?

Flypaper creates standard Web-ready content that will play in any browser enabled with the Flash plug-in (version 9,0,47,0 or higher.) Under the hood, it’s not a single Flash .swf file, it’s a set of files that include HTML pages, Flash files, XML and standard Web resource files (images, audio, videos, etc.)
Q Will Flypaper output play on mobile devices or the iPhone?

Flypaper output can be played on any mobile device with a browser enabled to play Flash content. Flypaper can also create .MP4 video files which will play on video iPods, iPhones and any mobile device that supports MPEG4. (The iPhone does not currently support Flash output.)
Q Can I create SCORM conformant courses using Flypaper?

Yes, with Flypaper Pro. Flypaper Pro supports publishing any Flypaper Story as a SCORM 1.2 conformant course, including scoring to objectives.

Q What is the difference between a Public Story and a Private Story?

A Public Story is hosted on the Flypaper Community Web site and can be viewed in the community by anyone. A Private Story is also hosted on the Flypaper Community Web site, but it will only be seen by people who receive the link directly from you.
